5 Minute Friday...Writing

Today, I am joining Lisa-Jo and lots of others for 5 Minute Friday.  I write for 5 minutes unedited.  Yes, I said UNEDITED.  You can read all the ins and outs and dos and don'ts here

Today's prompt is:  WRITE

GO

It is a journey really...this business of writing.  For me, it started out as a way to help me be a little more accountable with my quiet time.  Time I spend in the morning just me and God.

He speaks.

I speak.

I listen.

He listens.

Sometimes I talk to much, others times I don't.  But this space, this writing, my journal are all extensions of the conversations He and I have/had.

Then, somewhere along the way, my thoughts got hijacked and no longer was I only writing about my reflections from that day.

I was sharing about Amy or my vacation.

I began to write about my thoughts or share a recipe.

But I learned that writing can be a great stress reliever.  It can help me process things.  And I have not always been a writer.  I know, many bloggers and writers have always written.  They have journals from when they were children...not me.

No, I write these days because I feel called to do so and I am not sure where the journey is leading.  But I am holding on.  Because like life, writing can be a wild ride.

STOP

  1. Dear Mary
This is one thing I also have never had; a journal. Yes, those moments spent in our Pappa's presence is priceless and just so holy!

  2. I so agree. Writing is such a journey for me too. I use my writing as a tool for worship too. Thanks for sharing.
